17th Avenue Studios is known for throwing terrific art shows, being involved in the local art community, and sponsoring art events that benefit Santa Cruz. Here are just a few photos from recent events.

An art lover looks at one of Irina Parfenova's beautiful guoaches in her display outside her studio. Hanging in frames we can see Irina's larger oil paintings. The Building One extension building is home to the studio of Irina as well as the artist Joan Blackmer. In the front of the photo we can see a display rack of smaller works from Roberta Lee Woods.

Here is a look at the gallery in Building One at the back of the 17th Avenue Studios group of buildings. This was taken right from the main entrance. At the open door in the center, you can see a splash of color from Margarita Cortes's studio while at the end of the hall you can see the staircase that leads to the studio of Marvin Plummer and Mott Jordan.

Outside Building One is the extension building where Joan Blackmer has her studio door open. Elyse Fairweather (right) can be seen strolling over to where Irina Parfenova can be seen talking about her art.

There is a lot of life down in the Front Building where you can see artist Terry Ellis carrying on a conversation. Large paintings cover the gallery walls. A little girl in a pretty dress can be seen outside the studio of Yadhira Orozco.

In the gallery of Building One, one of Marvin Plummer's dogs stands out beside one of Michael Mote's waves. The gallery is a great place to see a variety of artists' works to get to know which artist you are most interested in.

In the Front Building, stairs lead up to the studios of Gini Gyorkos and Mali Mrozinski, two artists who work with surprising and exciting materials. A large painting by Donna Bourne is on the gallery wall (right).

Here is the view looking in the front door of the Front Building. At the left, you can see inside the studio of one of 17th Avenue Studios more mysterious artists. There are nine studios in the Front Building.

Art lovers walk down one of the hallways of Building One. Michael Mote's work is prominent on the wall.

Roberta Lee Woods has many of her small collage works displayed on this wall in Building One (right). From here we can see inside the studio of Adrienne Momi, down the hallway to Michael Mote.

Here we look through yet another interesting part of the studios, all the way to the studio of Ronna Schulkin.

The gallery has work on display by Donna Bourne (center above) and Elyse Fairweather (center below). We can see back to Elyse's studio where two happy art collectors walk out with a purchased artwork by artist Tatiana Gorbacheva.
